Shear Chaos Hair Salon opens in Chatham | News

Shear Chaos Hair Salon recently held a grand re-opening event at its location at 38 Center St. in Chatham. Shear Chaos is now open and is welcoming new clients.

New owner Brandi Harris, a local stylist with 15 years in the cosmetology industry, has rebranded the salon, which was known for years as Impressions Salon.

Harris worked at Impressions with the former owner, but when she made the decision to retire, Harris saw an opportunity to have her own salon in the area.

“It’s very exciting,” Harris added about opening her own salon. “That’s what I’ve always wanted to do since I started doing hair was to have my own shop.”

Shear Chaos offers a wide range of services to local clients, including haircuts, extensions, manicures and nail services, permanent makeup, and tanning. Haircuts are $18, while highlights start at $70.

Two stylists – Brandi and Randi Harris – will be working at the salon.

“There’s going to be two stylists in there,” Harris explained. “We do extensions. (Randi Harris) is going to be offering permanent makeup, like eyebrows and eyeliner.”

Having been in hairstyling since 2007, Harris has extensive experience working with all types of hair. Shear Chaos was recently certified in Dream Catchers hair extensions, and also specializes in all types of haircuts, including longer lengths, short hair and mullets.

Shear Chaos provides not only services at the shop at 38 Center St., but also onsite services for various life events, including weddings, birthdays, graduations, photoshoots and prom, among others.

“We do onsite location styling services for weddings, proms, and different kinds of events. If they contact us, we can be wherever,” Harris indicated.

Shear Chaos is dedicated not only to providing the area with high-quality professional services, but also to give back to the community.

As a way of saying thank you to the hard-working professionals in the police, fire, and rescue fields, Shear Chaos is going to be offering a 20 percent discount for first responders, such as local police, firefighters, and rescue personnel.

In addition, every third Monday of the month, Shear Chaos will be doing “Make a difference Monday.” A portion of the money made that day will be donated to a good cause, such as a local family in need.
