Chemical Free Natural Hair Colors For Dry And Damaged Hair Types

If you color your hair frequently, you must know that synthetic, ammonia-laden and bleach-containing dyes can do a lot of damage to your hair with the chemicals in them. That’s why switching to herbal and natural hair colors is often a good idea. These are relatively gentle on hair and give damaged & dry tresses a break from synthetic colors, while still giving you that colored-hair look.

What to expect from natural and gentle dyes

Natural dyes don’t have the saturated, intense pigment that synthetic hair colors do. So, getting an intense color look in one go, especially if you don’t leave it on for the suggested amount of time, is difficult.

They also don’t leave hair feeling artificially silky and smooth in that silicone-like way that a lot of synthetic boxed dyes do immediately afterwards. But, they are much gentler in the long run and cause little to no damage and breakage.

Natural dyes can fade faster and need more frequent reapplication than synthetic hair dyes.

This brand’s hair colors are Ayurveda-based and herbal, so there’s no ammonia or hydrogen peroxide. That chemical-like stench a lot of boxed dyes have is also not present here because it’s a henna-based cream, making it great for those with a sensitive nose. The color might not last as long as most other colors dobut it still lasts for two-three weeks, and most importantly, is quite easy on the hair.

The best part? It comes in the form of a cream and can be applied like a conditioner, so there’s no mixing needed. Plus, if there’s leftover product, it can always be used later.

The chocolate shade is a nice medium brown which doesn’t look too light, but also isn’t dark enough to make hair look flat. If you apply it on salt and pepper hair, it gives hair the most gorgeous, highlighted look, adding a lot of dimension.
